The Scorch Trials Movie Review and Life Update!

Hey guys! Long time no chat eh? (If you follow me on twitter you would be more up to date on what I’m up to…or if you wanna listen to my coffee needs on a daily basis)

Anyway so I am a huge fan of the Maze Runner series, the movie and the book. I haven’t finished reading the third book but I’ll get to that once I’m done with this semester of classes.

So I went to watch the Scorch Trials (finally) and right off the bat, I knew from the trailer, that this movie would be different from the book. If you’re a book lover like I am, you know how difficult it is to watch a movie with your beloved characters and have it be different than how you imagined it.

Yes, cheesy selfie

Don’t get me wrong the Scorch Trials was a great movie (a bit creepy…due to the cranks…that was scary). But I couldn’t help but think about all the changes they did from the book. Originally Teresa (the main girl played by Kaya) is separated from the group and they are placed on the Scorch and have to pass this trial in order to get to the next phase. Basically in the movie the reason they were out in the desert was because they were forced to complete this task rather than they escaped and are trying to survive (how it shows in the movie).

Now, because I haven’t finished the third book, perhaps the plot changes will help with the third movie…I don’t know.

So without further delay here’s my video review of The Scorch Trials:

LIFE UPDATE:

Ok so here’s whats been up in my life:

  • University has been so time consuming, if I’m not reading for one class I’m reading/studying for another…it is literally nonstop.
  • It was my friends birthdays this weekend so it was nice to break away from the nonstop university mode.
  • Also I’ve literally been living off of coffee…I need that stuff every morning and afternoon…God bless coffee ❤

yes my dog shows exactly how I feel about school :/

And I think that’s it as far as life updates goes. If anything spectacular or interesting happens and I don’t post it on here you’re likely to find out through my Twitter 😉

Hope you guys have a great week! 🙂

American Ultra Movie Review

Hey guys!

I’m just putting this out there….I never thought I would watch this movie but like I explain in the vid, if it wasn’t for my friend I probably wouldn’t have seen it.

I actually enjoyed this movie. It was entertaining/interesting/ and somewhat funny.

Do I recommend this movie for people under the age of 17?

No.

I mean if you’re a teen and like to watch gory violence and curse worded films than…that’s up to you. I’m old school and I like to inform people prior to watching a film like this.

The cinematography was great and guess what?! NO SHAKY CAM! I really don’t like films that are all handheld *cringe* (aka Project Almanac movie).

Life Update:

University is starting soon so I don’t know how much free time I’ll have. One thing I really want to start (and have been wanting to start) is VLOGGING …aka documenting my day through the camera. My youtube channel is called Elimarie PRODUCTION…therefore I would like to add a bit more production.

So hopefully I’ll get around to start posting stuff like that…but also keeping my reviews and random discussion videos cause those are fun too.

Anyway if you guys have any questions about American Ultra and stuff feel free to ask me on my tumblr page 😛

Hope you have a great week!

The Coffee and Film Tag

Hello awesome blog readers!

This week has been pretty busy but let me start this blog off by posting my video. I was tagged to do The Coffee Film Tag, it was really fun to film. Check it out.

Anyway here’s the result of my cup after I filmed the video xD

Also if you are curious these are my nails for this week 😛

I recently went to a concert and it was probably one of the best shows I’ve been to recently. Not to mention I am an avid concert attendee. I go every other month or so to watch bands and artists. But I went to watch The Vamps. The opening acts were The Tide and Before You Exit. Honestly the energy in that show was amazing, I’m still hyped about it to this day. I would totally pay and watch them all over again, really worth it 😀

I’ll post more pics about the show later on. The concert deserves a video and a blog post for itself cause it was great.

Anyway I posted more videos on my youtube channel (subscribe for weekly vids 😉

Here’s a tired selfie of myself as I edited the Coffee Film tag 😛

Hope you have a great week 🙂

Roadtrips, Music, Donuts, and Movies

Roadtrips & music…what else should summer consist of?

Lucky for me I’ve taken a few road trips over the past couple of weekends and boy oh boy I’ve discovered so many new artists and basically my ears are happy.

My current music obsession is a band called Oh Honey. Yes, that’s their name. I am obsessed with all of their ep songs, they aren’t that known but they are so freaking good.

Maybe you’ve heard one of their songs such as “Be Okay” or “Sugar You”. If you want mellow happy music I recommend you check them out.

But of course they have other songs that are just as good. But so far those are two singles that they are playing on the radio.

Life Update:

Some of you may or may not know but I work part time for a private school and their graduation is coming up so I’ve been pretty busy helping out and stuff. Today I left my house WITHOUT my earphones X(

But at least we got donuts today 😛 Plus my hazelnut coffee….yaas 😀

If you know this or not but I’ve posted several videos on my youtube channel:

Tomorrowland Movie Review:

Scorch Trails Trailer Reaction (excitement intensifies):

Flash Season Finale (with brother):

Plus more other vids too…

Thanks for reading and have a great week!

Avengers: Age of Ultron Movie Review

*Baymax voice* “Hello”

I know what you’re thinking….Why has it taken you so long to post the Avengers review?

Simple answer my friend. My family wanted to watch the Avengers together so yesterday was the only day our schedules allowed us all to watch it.

Here’s a quick video I did…keep scrolling down cause I talk more in depth about the film.

Alright so it wasn’t until yesterday I found out Clint (Hawkeye) is married in the comics so it made sense to add that to the film. Keep in mind I haven’t read the Avengers comics YET. I’ve been reading Captain Marvel and Winter Soldier so I apologize if my comic book knowledge is rusty.

75

I thought the film score was fantastic. I loved how they kept the same powerful-superhero-type- theme going on from the first Avengers film, even though they changed composers it was still great.

Now the problem I see with hollywood, sometimes they make action movies that are PACKED with action, action, action, and not enough substance. Marvel could’ve gone so wrong but I guess throughout trial and error they learned to master that.

Avengers is packed with so much action BUT it is also filled with story. 😀 These characters are all different and have strengths and weaknesses but they come together, even though they have conflicts.

Overall I think the cast was great, including the newcomers, Aaron (Quicksilver) and Elizabeth (Scarlet Witch). The acting the cinematography, the music, the story, everything blended perfectly for the action packed super hero adventure we love to watch. 🙂

I gotta point out this Quicksilver is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than the Quicksilver in X-men. I would compare and contrast that but for the sake of time…I’ll just say they are both different and good in their own ways 😉

Lastly I’m excited for Captain America Civil War 😀

Ok this was a long post. Anyway I’m already on summer break so expect more videos and posts 🙂

The Age of Adaline Movie Review + Life Update

Before we get to the blog post let me just say I am so sad about what is going on in the U.S. My prayers are going to this nation.

Moving right along. I saw the Age of Adaline a while back (due to endless study sessions I haven’t posted anything yet). So here is my video review:

Let me just say the actor Anthony Ingruber (who played the younger version of Harrison Ford’s character) looked a lot like a young Harrison Ford

Also the actor that played Ellis (Michiel Huisman) did a great job in this movie. I feel like a lot of people are gonna love this guy after watching the film.

So I’m subscribed to a magazine called American Cinematographer and in this month’s issue they talked about…you guessed it….The Age of Adaline and explained more about what the film equipment the crew used and behind the scenes stuff.

Great magazine I recommend it 😉

Life Update:

Finals are coming up and I’ve been studying my brains out. Therefore I’m not sure if I’ll upload a new video this week or not but either way you should subscribe to my youtube channel 😉

Since I’ve been studying a lot I’ve decided to take a break from working out…therefore I’ve succumbed to this as my snack….it’s finals time…when summer comes my way then I’ll start working out and eating healthy again :/

Well that’s all I got for today. Remember Dancing With The Stars is on tonight #TeamRallison and #TeamHoughkin 😀

Thanks for reading!
