The Imitation Game Movie Review

Ayeee! Another blog review is here!

Yes I have been super busy with finals and while I’m typing this I’m supposed to be working on a study guide and pack my bags cause I’ll be out of town this weekend and come back to do the dreaded final 😦

Anyway I recently went to watch The Imitation Game and boy oh boy that was good.

Personally I love historical type movies like The Theory of Everything, Atonement…Narnia….you pretty much get the picture.

What is the movie about?

English mathematician and logician, Alan Turing, helps crack the Enigma code during World War II. – IMDB

Well…what were your thoughts?

I thought this was a beautiful movie. Just like The Theory of Everything it’s about a man who struggles with being different and accomplishes incredible things.

What about the characters?

Benedict and Keira’s characters in the film were soooo good. I loved their relationship and how they understood each other. In the end of the film you feel sorry for Allen and everything he went through. But seriously it was amazing what this man could do and how he prevented two extra years of war! Plus he was sooo literal it was quite funny in the film.

Plus something that I didn’t expect was the responsibility the team had with the machine and the whole secrecy things….that was crazy.

Anything young viewers should know?

This movie talks about homosexuality. If you don’t know by now Allen (Benedict’s character) was gay and he explains it in the movie.

There’s no violence or sexual content, there’s minor curse words but overall it seems like a PG film…but its still rated PG-13 so make your research if you’re still not sure.

Here’s a quick video I filmed talking about the main things about the movie:

Well that’s about it for today!

Have a great weekend!

Quick Interstellar Movie Review

Yikes…I’m guilty for not blogging….again.

Quick life update:

– I have reviewed quite a few things (movies, tv, etc..) you can watch them on my youtube channel EliMarie Production

Today I decided to review Interstellar….since it’s not until now that I was able to watch it…I know super late

What is Interstellar about?

A team of explorers travel through a wormhole in an attempt to find a potentially habitable planet that will sustain humanity. – IMDB

What did you think about the film?

I thought the cinematography was wonderful. If I’m not mistaken the movie was filmed….with film and not digital. Personally I love film, it gives the movie a sort of old school effect that can’t be accomplished with digital. But don’t get me wrong I still enjoy digital films too.

Ok..enough technical speech…what aboutΒ the acting?

Oh dear…don’t get me started. The acting was amazing from all the actors! I loved the relationship Mathew and his (movie) daughter had. When I was watching the scene where he watches the videos his kids sent him in space…wow the emotions….wow

*if you haven’t watched the movie you’re probably confused…and thats ok…just watch the film πŸ˜‰

Anything else about the movie?

Yes…some parts were very intense….but it was good…it wasn’t the type of intense that makes you want to walk away from the movie. I think this movie will be nominated for an Oscar….is it too early to make predictions? Anyway overall I enjoyed it πŸ˜€

I made a quick 60 seconds review heres the vid:

Well I hope you enjoyed this quick blog post πŸ™‚

Fury Movie Review

Here I go again…always posting the review a few days after I posted the video….my bad.

Anyway here is the video form for my review of Fury starring Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman, and more amazing actors.

*Keep reading after the video I’ll explain a bit more*

Alright, so as you can see from my review the movie wasn’t up to the expectation I originally had for this film.

The main thing that I didn’t like about the film was the story….I felt like it was lacking something.

But just like I said in my review….the actors were AMAZING and the cinematography was PERFECT!

  • I DO NOT recommend this movie for people under the age of 15 or 14…you will get nightmares if you do.
  • There is NO sexual scenes…there’s hardly a romance
  • It is SUPER gory…a lot of violence…they don’t cover anything
  • Brad Pitt did AH-MAZE-ZING same for Shia…I feel like I didn’t emphasize them enough in the review
  • Logan Lerman…again I say….takes his acting to A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL πŸ˜€

So in OTHER news:

  1. I’m planning on revamping my blog…again…I’ve been saying this for the LONGEST time but I’m searching for the right theme and all.
  2. I’m having a coffee and a nice croissant while typing this…thought you should know.
  3. Just like I said in my video…I’ll be posting more about my life on here…including pictures! (in case you don’t know I LOVE photography)

Well that’s all for today folks!

The Judge Movie Review + Update

Wowee where do I start?

Well first of all I have been trying to revamp my site for a long while but so far every change that I do results to a sort of disappointment. I’m not pleased with the layouts I tried and all so for now I’ll just keep the normal layout…but hopefully soon I’ll find the right layout that I’m pleased with and it’ll change.

Anyway during my small hiatus many things has happened. If you’re not subscribed to my YouTube channel then you probably missed many new movie reviews along with TV show reviews and recaps πŸ™‚

But nonetheless today I uploaded my review for The Judge which comes out in theaters October 10th.

I went to an early screening (therefore the early review).

With that being said I would like to revamp this site (like I said earlier). I also want to start posting more about my daily life on here. Considering I hardly talk about my life on my YouTube channel.

Well that’s all I have to say for today also besides the fact that I have been SUPER ULTRA BUSY with schoolwork…seriously its not easy and it’s not fun.

Thanks for reading!

The Giver Movie Review

Hey guys so I went to the special screening of The Giver, which they showed live red carpet interviews with the cast, a live performance from one republic, and of course Β the movie.

I filmed a video review for this but…I kinda look sleepy in it and miss a few key points that I forgot to mention (sorry it was a late night).

Here’s a list of things I forgot to mention:

  • The theme: Faith, Hope, and Love….the theme totally made me give this movie a high rating.
  • Not too much romance πŸ˜€ I’m glad they kept the romance at a minimum cause it would’ve killed the movie in my opinion.
  • Jeff Bridges’ character ‘The Giver’ tells Jonas he loves him before he leaves…that totally touched my heart.
  • I was skeptical when I found out Taylor Swift would be in the film but she TOTALLY added depth to her character so that was awesome!
  • The whole cast of actors did really great as well with Brenton and Jeff.

*** The movie is NOT exactly like the book.

****BUT Lowis Lowry (the author of The Giver) totally approves and said she loves the film!

**I’ve read the book before and I loved it and seeing it on the big screen was just as great as reading the book! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Now speaking of the book:

  • They explain the ending a bit more in the movie

In the screening some of the crew got emotional because they’ve waited 18 years for this film and it really shows the passion and patience they had for this movie. <<< Another reason why I give it a high rating.

Here’s my video review:

I DEFINITELY recommend this movie for EVERYONE. It has a great message and the filming was very unique. Young and old can watch this film and take something out of it.

I rate The Giver a 9/10 πŸ˜€

THE GIVER COMES OUT AUGUST 15TH!! In Theaters everywhere!

I hope you get to watch this movie soon!

Lucy Movie Review

Finally a movie review! *laughter*

Anyway so lets get straight to it.

Pros:

  • Scarlett Johansson’s acting (I enjoyed it)
  • Watching her character go from a really scared/nervous person into a fearless mind control person
  • Action
  • Bad A-ness

Cons:

  • Lack of emotional ending (there was no emotion in the end, it just finished the movie without a certain significance to the character…not sure if that makes sense)
  • A bit like Transcendence…it was an OK movie (not great but not bad)

Lucy was an interesting movie, learning about the different stages of the brain and what happens to a human after they reach 100% was mind blowing. But the ending felt like it was lacking something.

I say it lacked some emotional substance in the end, Lucy didn’t really form a relationship with any of the characters (friendship wise). She did have a guy as her partner in crime but I didn’t feel like they developed that fully.

But that’s what I think. I give this movie a 7.5/10

Its rated R for Violence and a bit of Gore. You see them operate and it gets a bit bloody. There’s a bit of sexual content but nothing too extreme and they don’t show anything.

Here is me reviewing the movie:

Hair Story:

I wanted a light brown ombre but I ended up with blonde…how did that happen? I suppose it was lack of communication with the hair stylist…oh well.

Happy Movie watching!
